It was 3rd February 1978, when I joined GWRDC ( Gujarat Water Resources Development Corp. Ltd). At that time I was studying in last year of M.Sc. in Geology subject from M.G.Science Institute. I was little beat nervous in office environment. I was appointed as Geological Supervisor. In April I gave exam of M.Sc. and I was appointed on higher post of Jr.Geologist in November - 1978. All those days were great for understanding office work, field work , technical writing & mapping work. All we had to perform manually as no computers at that time. It was time of learning.
Served at Bhavnagar, Mahesana, Gandhinagar & now at Ahmedabad.
Lots of I have gain during and through Office..... Got maaried, two Son, House and satisfaction....my entire life is due to the office... I respect my office.....
Lots of lost during office life.....my Dearest Son Tapan at his age of 17, my mother, my father...they taught me the lessons of honesty, workmanship, faithfulness and dedication to work... I follow all these values during my entire office life.. I always kept away myself from evil things.....and all officemates are aware with these....
The only thing hurt is that office management never appreciated any work and even not given the post that I think I deserve, because the persons they have given charge of responsible posts are really not of that caliber for they should have.
When I am retiring from office, I am very much disappointed that not a single person is remained that can understand the work. They all are interested in other things than technical public oriented work.... During all these years, I witnessed so many so called officers for performing money making things...
Today when I look back, I can clearly see that I have given lots of inputs to my office in comparison to what I gained.... whenever chance is given I had represented GWRDC- my office at World Bank or Min. Of water resources at Delhi or at Gandhinagar or at so many other places in India & Gujarat...conducted so many trainings for the staff of my office on technical softwares or technical topics...
But as mentioned I am really disappointed for other fellow members who are not at all interested in office duties, office regularity, dedication to work , faith fullness ......
After a long service of 37 years, I am retiring on 31 July 2014 due to the age of 58 years.
Now I want to give time to myself for Birding, with nature, reading, to my magazine Tathagat and to our every Sunday activities for children through Tapansmruti Trust established in year 2001.
